COVER is the representative body for the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) in the East of England. COVER is a membership organisation, guided by trustees elected from its membership. Each full member is a network in its own right, giving COVER reach right across the VCS and the region. COVER’s vision is of a just and inclusive society for the East of England that recognises and supports the value, and values, of the community and voluntary sector. Its mission is to increase voluntary and community sector regional influence, activity and recognition. It aims to be recognised as the authoritative agency of the community and voluntary sector at the regional level in the east of England. COVER has three interlinked strands of work:

  • Influencing regional and national policies, through representation and networking activities;
  • An enabling function, through levering and brokering an increasing share of resources and the promotion of sector development;
  • A communicating function by bringing together useful information, news and resources for the sector and circulating them as widely as possible.
